This patient had severe capsular contracture from her implants that were placed above the muscle several years ago. This caused her breasts to look and feel hard and unnatural, it also cause occasional pain. She did not want a lift, but wished to have her implants replaced and to have the scar tissue removed so that they would look and feel more natural. She underwent breast implant removal and replacement with Dr. Costa. Dr. Costa removed the old implants and all of the scar tissue around the implants (the capsule). He then placed new implants below the pectoralis muscle to give her a more natural shape and slope to her breasts. Work was also done on the pocket in order to bring the breasts closer together. Her breasts now appear closer together and she has good upper pole fullness. *This patient also needed a lift, however she did not wish to have one done and only wished to have the scar capsule tissue removed. She is very happy with the results because she ended up with so much more!
